Gemma Poulter

Computational Scientist

Gemma graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2006 with an MMath in Mathematics with Study in Europe (Germany). She went on to study for her PhD at the National Oceanography Centre, at the University of Southampton. During this time she suspended her PhD for a summer to work at Los Alamos National Laboratory as a visiting scientist. Upon returning to Southampton she completed her thesis "Using derivative information in the statistical analysis of computer models" in 2010.

Gemma went on to work for a private software company but is now in the Software Engineering group at STFC. She contributes to the group's R&D activities which include agent-based modelling, software engineering, high performance computing and software parallelisation.
